It’s a bit difficult to play online slots, rather than playing slot machines in a land based casino. Nonetheless, it’s not very difficult to get started. Some of the tips for the beginners to get started are as follows:
The very first step you need to take, is to find a good casino of your choice. Every casino has a different kind of offering, and it is very important that the casino you have chosen should give you ‘your kind of enjoyment’. In case you wish to go for online virtual casinos then in that case you have a choice of thousands of casinos. Some exceedingly good and some good for nothing, therefore you have to be also very cautious in choosing the right enjoyment for yourself.

While playing online slots or online bingo one might find that every game is different in some senses from the. The bonuses, management, policies of casinos differ from each other. Many casinos even offer downloadable software’s. One has to be very careful in taking a demo show of the software. Most of the people play demo just for the sake of fun or becoming a guest and enjoying for free. It is advisable that one must not lie while writing about personal details when he is playing for the real money. In an online bingo, most of the people get confused in making a deposit therefore before going on a slot machine, one must read the casinos financial terms and conditions very carefully. The first thing that the customer must check is how secured is the site and whether it contains data-encrypted link for the protection of personal info from cyber thieves or not.

Those who prefer playing online slots must be very clear of all its merits and demerits. Online slots are not for the people who are searching for a game where they can win money in abundance and on the same time control their destiny. Therefore, the very first thing one must do while playing an online slot or online bingo is to avoid the games which are already crowded by players because in such situations chances to win the game are very less. So one must always look for the games where the players are not much in quantity.

Winning Jackpot Stories.

Saturday, July 25th, 2009

If you are looking for the true ‘dream makers’, that award goes to the ever-increasing progressive jackpots.

I have compiled some of these Winning Stories to brighten your dreams tonight.

It’s Magic

Celeste has worked for years in the family’s equipment rental business and recently sold the company.

Six months ago, her mother gave her a lucky pendant and she is certain she is responsible for the win.

In addition, her father gave her a $100 bill for the trip and told her to use that money to buy chips for herself.

Therefore, he’s now positive that his $100 gift is responsible for her new fortune. Celeste was so touched by what her father said after hearing of her win. He said, “Celeste, you’ve always done for others, now you can do for yourself.”

Let’s back up a bit while Celeste McCormick of Albany, GA tells her story:

“It was one of those magical nights when we couldn’t lose. We were having such fun and winning on almost every machine we chose to play. We’re not big gamblers, but maybe now we will be!”

“My mother and father love to gamble, and my mother had been comped a room at the Imperial Palace in Biloxi, MI. She graciously invited my brother and me to join in the celebration.

Earlier in the evening, my friend and I had been playing the Wheel of Fortune machines and won $500. Just before going up to the room, we decided to go back to the Wheel of Fortune to see if we would have any luck again. When the three Wheel of Fortune symbols appeared, nothing happened; there were no bells or flashing lights.” My friend said, “I think you won $10,000.” Then I said, “No, I think I won the progressive jackpot.”

While I sat at the machine waiting for someone to arrive, I began to get nervous and said to my companion, “You better go find someone in case we have a power failure and I lose the entire jackpot.”

He left to find an attendant and when they returned they confirmed that I did win the progressive jackpot of $1,195,974.

It was now 2:52 a.m. and we were far from being tired after all the excitement. Celeste added, “It was hilarious–the hotel personnel immediately moved us to the penthouse suite. We waited around until later, and then called my mother and brother to tell them our room had been changed and to come up to our suite to visit us.

My brother immediately said, “How much did you win, $10,000?” I said “No a lot more than that. Just put your robes on and come up to the suite.

When they arrived, we held up the check and I took a picture of my mother’s face when she saw the amount!”

How does she feel about the win? “I felt very humbled and thankful for my blessings. It’s been a wonderful experience.” Her future plans are simple for now, “we’ve put it in CDs until we can decide.”

Happy Returns

Michael Figueroa of Citrus Heights, CA, said they were celebrating his friend’s 30th birthday at Horizon Casino, Lake Tahoe when they decided to play some slot machines. Michael got the best gift with a heavy hit of $615,176 at a Wheel of Fortune quarter progressive. He had only invested $20 and stated, “I always play the Wheel of Fortune machines because I love to get to spin the wheel”. “I kept thinking that I really wanted to hit the jackpot and had just repeated that to my wife when it hit. I was in shock, stunned.”

Michael, who is self-employed, said he would spend his winnings wisely, live a little more comfortably and extend his trip to Lake Tahoe.

Pop that Champagne Cork

Anthony Vighione, owner of several video rental stores in Milford, CT, plays the new Popeye video slots often and says they’re his favorite. While playing at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, CT, Anthony hit an eye-popping payday of $508, 594. on a quarter Popeye progressive machine.

And She Said…

Blue Water Resort and Casino in Parker, AZ was the place for Larry Jackson who won $750,455 on a one-dollar Wheel of Fortune. Jackson, a retiree from Lake Havasu City, Arizona, had taken a day trip to the casino to play his favorite machines. When asked about his plans, Jackson stated, “that will be up to the wife.”

Slot Machines and RNG

If you are anything like me, as soon as websites start going on about anything that they refer to in abbreviation, for example RNG, I switch off and hope it’s not important. After all, if it was really important, or indeed understandable, they wouldn’t talk about it in code, right? Well, I got a bit of a shock when someone actually explained to me what RNG was – it’s really quite interesting, and useful: listen up!

RNG stands for Random Number Generation and it’s a technology that is used to imitate any other form of creating randomness like a shuffle or a dice throw. So, when a website tells you that they’re RNG is the best, they mean that they’re numbers are the most like a naturally randomly generated result, like me shuffling a deck. RNG, because it’s entirely computer reliant is also very safe as it isn’t susceptible to human corruption such as not being a good shuffler, or not giving a strong spin.

Now, in terms of slots this is really interesting. In the good old days there would be wheels inside the machine that would spin and give us a randomly generated result in the shape of images that lined up. Today however, our slot machines don’t have wheels, of course they don’t; apart from anything else they’re on line! So how do they create the results?

Most of our modern slots are categorized as ‘3 reel’, ‘5 reel’, or ‘7 reel’, but we’ve already said that there aren’t actually any reels, so what is this referring to. The modern slots have instead of physical reels, a sequence of images that may be displayed on virtual wheel. These sequences of images are far more numerous than was ever possible on slots with physical reels because there simply wasn’t enough space. On a video slot for instance, there may be a sequence of let’s say 147 possible positions which correspond to the symbols that appear on your screen. A computer using the RNG technology will spit out combination after combination of numbers. Each of these numbers will tell the virtual reel to go to the corresponding position on the virtual reel sequence. So, for example, on a 3 reel slot there will be 3 sets of sequences; each sequence will consist of 147 positions which in turn will be represented by a symbol on your screen. The RNG will spit out numbers, maybe 45, 98, and 138. The computer then knows to send the first reel to position 45 in its sequence, the second to 98 in its sequence, and the third to 138 in its sequence. This then gets represented on your screen with the spinning of a reel.

So now you now you know what RNG is and how they managed to fit all of those cherries into such a small space!

Basic Slots: Features & Strategies

Three features that should dictate any slot players’ search for basic slots are:

1) Single payline, in your quest to stretch your gambling bankroll.

2) Slot players should also look for 2 coin maximum non-progressive machines only.

Whereas a 2-coin machine may pay 80 coins for 3 double bars with 2 coins in, a 3-coin machine may show a pay of 120 coins for the same combination. However, remember, you had to gamble an extra coin, each spin; therefore, the payouts are generally equal. Three coin machines look more lucrative in their payoff structure because they show that the player will win more, but the player also has to bet more to get this.

Players who play the 3 coin machines will spend considerably more than players who invest more of their playtime and money in the preferred 2 coin machines, equating to more pulls on that slot, and more chances to win a jackpot.

3) Slot Players will want to seek out those slots that pay double jackpots on certain pay-line combinations.

The principle of this ‘double’ symbol is very simple; whenever it appears on the payline in combination with any other symbols that normally would have made a winning combination, the payoff amount is doubled.

Look closely to see which machine you are playing, as not all machines will double and quadruple all pays and not all machines will have double jackpots win possibilities.

Some machines will have only 2 double symbols, one on each of the first two reels while other machines will have 3 of these double symbols, one on each of the 3 reels.

When choosing a ‘double’ machine, it is important not to confuse them with wild cherries or any other symbols noted on the machines payoff display as being ‘wild’. Symbols identified as being wild sub for any other paying symbol, but do not double the payoff.

Additionally, most slot machines with 1000 coin top payout will hit more often than those with 5,000 or 10,000 top jackets…makes sense.

Blackjack players will argue loud and long at me for this, however there is data available that theorizes you can make just as much money on an hourly basis playing slots:

Cost per hour to play slots:

Denomination 1 coin 2 coins 3 coins
Nickel 30. 60. 90.
Quarter 150. 300. 450.
Dollar 600. 1200. 1800.

I rest my case for playing 2 coins machines. With quarter machines, the most played slots, I would have an extra $150. to play with, 300 extra spins/pulls at 2 coin machines and a greater opportunity for jackpots.

I realize that the popular slots today on and offline are bonus multi-line versions and they are definitely a lot of fun to play and will put profits in your pocket.

I write about them extensively in my articles and Casino Players Ezine, gambling newsletter, however, for the novice slot player–basic, single payline slots are an excellent starting point.

Remember: ‘Not only do you have good luck with a gambling education, but you are making your luck.’
Until next we meet in the Slots Playground.

Slot Machine Myths

Slot machines are a popular draw in casinos around the world, and even though each country has their different varieties of slot machines, the basic notion behind them all is the same. Traditionally, slot machines are coin-operated machines with three or more reels that spin whenever a lever on the side of the machine is pulled and released. Slot machines are affectionately nicknamed “one-armed bandits” because of their one-armed appearance.

Newer variations of the machine allow players to insert cash or even paper tickets with barcodes in order to play slot machines. Some of the more recent slot machines will even have a touch screen that starts the reels spinning.

Now, on to debunking some of the more popular myths about slot machines:

- The average slot machine never gets hot or cold. This is because the odds of a person hitting a winning combination of reels are determined by a random number generator that is built into the slot machine’s software. The odds never change.

Amusement with prizes (AWP) machines in Britain are the exception to this rule. These AWP machines are progressive, meaning that the chances of someone hitting a winning combination increases over time if the machine has not paid out yet. Some of these machines will also grant winning combinations if it will help the machine to meet certain payout percentages.

- Though there is a logic behind where slot machines are placed out on the gambling floor, higher paying machines are not placed in areas with more traffic. Machines with similar payout percentages are put together.

- The temperature of the coins inserted into the slot machine will not affect the payout received. Slot machines do not sense temperature and payout different percentages depending on the temperature of the coins used.

- Using a slot club card will not affect the slot machine’s payout. The card only allows the casino to monitor how much a player gambles with and the corresponding amenities that should be granted.

- In most jurisdictions, slot machines cannot have their payout percentages altered depending on the time of day or day of the week by punching in some numbers into a computer. To do this would require the replacement of parts inside of the slot machine and in many areas it would also require regulatory supervision.

Once again, British AWP machines is an exception to this rule, as these machines have percentage keys and dip switches, and changing the percentages does not require any supervision.

- Contrary to popular belief, a slot machine that has not paid out in a long time is not “due to hit.” It is impossible to determine when a machine is due to hit since each spin is a random event and has no dependency on the spin before.
