For the novice gambler, roulette gambling seems like a very difficult task to learn. It is true that learning the strategies used by pros can take years of experience to master, but you can find many sources online that outline the basics of roulette gambling. Just keep in mind that it takes a while to become a master gambler and to pace yourself.

Basically, you use chips to place your bets on a variety of number and colors on the roulette table. The Croupier (dealer) spins the wheel and a number and color is chosen. As the wheel spins, a small ball rolls around the wheel and lands on a destination. This is just an example of the basics of roulette gambling.

Roulette gambling can be as simple as placing a bet and watching the wheel spin. Winning in roulette gambling is a combination of strategy, odds and luck. You will not win every round; knowing the odds of the game can greatly influence your success in roulette gambling. Practice does not necessarily make perfect in roulette, although the more you play and the more experienced you become, the better you will be at gauging the odds.

You can always try roulette gambling at an online venue to begin with. Many websites offer free roulette gambling and this might be a great way to learn the game and test your abilities. As you feel more comfortable with the game, you may decide to play at a casino or at an online venue that is pay-to-play. Roulette can be a fun and exciting game with the potential for great payouts.

Basic No Limit Hold ‘Em Poker Strategies

Monday, June 29th, 2009

There is an essential difference between limit and no-limit Texas hold’em and this difference is based on the position you have at the playing table and on the value of the hands. When you are playing no-limit hold’em you will find that position is much more important than in the limit games. The explanation is quite simple actually because there is no limit so more money are involved and the goals you set depend on your position and they will have a bigger impact on you bankroll. If somehow you manage to get someone into a position trap you will here have a change to get that person’s entire stack, not only a few more bets like in Limit hold’em.

In no-limit poker the big connectors are not to be played because they have a much lesser value overall: they can cause you to win but just small amounts of money and they can also cause you to lose greatly. If we are talking pairs, they increase their value consistently in no-limit Texas hold’em. They give you the opportunity to trap someone (especially the big pairs) and they can get you the entire bankroll of those persons or simply double the value of the pot over a betting round.

When playing no-limit you must before all keep an efficient list of all money spent by you and your opponents. Variations in the stack affect the whole hand and you must be aware of that. So pay attention to all amounts of money players have on the table and to the pot size at all times. The game here is about leaving the others with no money on the table not just about winning small pots and hands.

Let’s take an example to better demonstrate how and why important the amount of money each player has on the table is so important.

Let’s just say you have now $250 and another player has $25. You are playing a game with blinds of $1-$2. Your position is the small blind and the cards you have are QJ suited. Your opponent is in first position and he goes all-in. All other players consider the risk and decide to fold, as strategy requires in this case. Now, you are faced with a problem: to call and risk $24 for his $25 bet or to simply fold like the situation requires. Betting for that kind of money the almost exact amount is an unnecessary risk you should not take. If however your opponent would have an amount of $250 just like you have, then the risk can be acceptable as you were going to risk the money for 10 times their value.

Games are considered to be fair games when each player has the same opportunity to win, all other things considered equal. Games players everywhere are concerned with fair games. If the games aren’t fair, the players are being cheated so this is why they are always so concerned with the issue of fair games.

There is no way to know for sure if the games are fair. The software manufacturers have a stake in making sure that the games are fair since they have their own names to protect in the marketplace. They don’t want to be associated with any shoddy or fly-by-night operations. Many software manufactures have built-in procedures for testing the game software for fairness as well as protecting the consumer against other shoddy practices, but there is no way to guarantee that these are working.

Many online watchdog entities are concerned with the issue of game fairness and have requirements which must be met before the site receives its seal. The site usually has to submit to some form of software testing to ensure the integrity of the games in order to be awarded a seal. Finding a seal on a site is one way of being made to feel more secure about dealing with that site. Again, there are no positive guarantees, especially in the online environment. Fair games will always be a concern to players of gambling games because it is the player’s money that is at stake so most players will be concerned with fair games.

Basic Slots: Features & Strategies

Three features that should dictate any slot players’ search for basic slots are:

1) Single payline, in your quest to stretch your gambling bankroll.

2) Slot players should also look for 2 coin maximum non-progressive machines only.

Whereas a 2-coin machine may pay 80 coins for 3 double bars with 2 coins in, a 3-coin machine may show a pay of 120 coins for the same combination. However, remember, you had to gamble an extra coin, each spin; therefore, the payouts are generally equal. Three coin machines look more lucrative in their payoff structure because they show that the player will win more, but the player also has to bet more to get this.

Players who play the 3 coin machines will spend considerably more than players who invest more of their playtime and money in the preferred 2 coin machines, equating to more pulls on that slot, and more chances to win a jackpot.

3) Slot Players will want to seek out those slots that pay double jackpots on certain pay-line combinations.

The principle of this ‘double’ symbol is very simple; whenever it appears on the payline in combination with any other symbols that normally would have made a winning combination, the payoff amount is doubled.

Look closely to see which machine you are playing, as not all machines will double and quadruple all pays and not all machines will have double jackpots win possibilities.

Some machines will have only 2 double symbols, one on each of the first two reels while other machines will have 3 of these double symbols, one on each of the 3 reels.

When choosing a ‘double’ machine, it is important not to confuse them with wild cherries or any other symbols noted on the machines payoff display as being ‘wild’. Symbols identified as being wild sub for any other paying symbol, but do not double the payoff.

Additionally, most slot machines with 1000 coin top payout will hit more often than those with 5,000 or 10,000 top jackets…makes sense.

Blackjack players will argue loud and long at me for this, however there is data available that theorizes you can make just as much money on an hourly basis playing slots:

Cost per hour to play slots:

Denomination 1 coin 2 coins 3 coins
Nickel 30. 60. 90.
Quarter 150. 300. 450.
Dollar 600. 1200. 1800.

I rest my case for playing 2 coins machines. With quarter machines, the most played slots, I would have an extra $150. to play with, 300 extra spins/pulls at 2 coin machines and a greater opportunity for jackpots.

I realize that the popular slots today on and offline are bonus multi-line versions and they are definitely a lot of fun to play and will put profits in your pocket.

I write about them extensively in my articles and Casino Players Ezine, gambling newsletter, however, for the novice slot player–basic, single payline slots are an excellent starting point.

Remember: ‘Not only do you have good luck with a gambling education, but you are making your luck.’
Until next we meet in the Slots Playground.

Online Baccarat: Hot Tips for Success

Home of the Biggest Jackpots!

Other than just being the game that Ian Fleming used as the backdrop for the first ever book he wrote that featured the now-legendary British spy, James Bond, (switched to poker in the newer vision featuring Daniel Craig) baccarat has always been sought after by casino lovers starting from the beginning of the last century when the game gained notoriety through the Wild West casinos and gaming halls.

Warning:
But, before I continue, I have to warn you. Beware of the many frauds online and offline that promise you that their system will break the casino. Don’t purchase any of these books or online manuals. Even if you use the Martingale system, you will crash as soon as you reach the highest amount of money you can place as allowed by the casino. Likewise, don’t count cards as well.

Why?
Baccarat is a game based on luck. Neither can its outcome be predicted nor can you calculate odds of receiving a certain card. So, just give up on these types of tactics. They are doomed to land you in hot water.

So, should I just give up and leave the outcome to chance?
You can, but why should you not try and improve your chances by practicing some of the easy to pick up tips mentioned here? At least, try them out before you decide.

1) Look out for the baccarat table that uses the least amount of card decks.
Because a large amount of card decks means that your chances drop, it is advisable to try and locate the table that uses as little decks as possible. Ask around. But, if you can find one that plays with only one deck, watch it. Usually, casinos reserve this baccarat table for the high-rollers.

2) Bet on the banker.
Many baccarat enthusiasts play around with this bet but don’t stick to it. If you want to come out on top at the end of the game, go ahead and bet with the banker always. You will lose sometimes, but when the game concludes, your cash total will be higher than those who didn’t bet with the banker.

3) Before you sit down, calculate exactly what amount you can lose without causing damage.
This tip refers to any type of wagering you wish to conduct and wherever you wish to do it. Many players tend to stretch the pre-set limit and then lose more than what they could afford. Even while playing this tends to interfere too much with your calculations and then you make mistakes just because you are thinking of the money instead of the cards.

4) Observe the baccarat table.
Never start playing as soon as you enter a casino. Relax. Drink a cold drink. Look around. Then, after picking a baccarat table, stand to the side and observe how the game is being played and how the different players are placing their individual bets. Once you feel relaxed enough and once you are well aware of how each baccarat player bets, take your seat. Remember. Start slow.

5) Learn control.
Even before you pick a table, you must sort out exactly the amount of money you are going to bet with. Set this figure by judging how much cash you can lose without becoming too nervous. If you lose more than you had decided on, quit. Every game you play after you cross that sum will be risky because your mind won’t forget that you are wagering with money you cannot afford to lose.

6) Pick the baccarat game that suits your skills.
You only know how good you are at playing baccarat. This is not the time to feel you are stronger than you really are. The difference in what you think you are and what you really are will be the result of your baccarat playing at that table. So, judge wisely and don’t try and show off.

Closure:
Baccarat is a game that is under-rated. But, you should try it out. Unlike poker and blackjack, it is much easier to make a profit playing this card game than any other card game you can play at a casino. And once you practice the tips I have mentioned above, your profits will increase even more.
